RESCUES WHO FOUND NEW FOREVER HOMES.

Please  consider ....
Saving just one rescue won't change the  world...but, surely, the world will change for that one rescue.

November:

TIBBY:  3 YEAR OLD FEMALE LHASA APSO,    SHE WAS ADOPTED BY A YOUNG COUPLE WHO HAVE A MALTE-POO WHO IS 10 MONTHS OLD, AND IN NEED OF A PLAYMATE.   IT WAS A "DONE DEAL" ONCE   THEY ROMPED AROUND THE BACK YARD, AND WE ARE EXCITED TO SEE HER IN A PERFECT  NEW HOME.

October:

THANK YOU PETSMART FOR HELPING US PLACE THE FOLLOWING RESCUES!

BANDIT This little guy is a 2 year old Pomeranian/mix.  He is very sweet, loves to sit on laps and is housebroke.  He was adopted by a nice family who wanted a Pomeranian forever and came out to PetsMart when Pom Rescue told them we were out there with him. I am sure he will live happy ever-after.

HEADS-UP HANNAH (HEDDIE):  GOLD AND WHITE SHIH-TZU.  WAS ADOPTED BY A WONDERFUL FAMILY WHO HAVE ONE SHIH-TZU, AND COULDN'T RESIST HER!

Cha-Cha,   5 year old female, Chihuahua.  Very sweet.  She was adopted by a family with a huge long-hair Chihuahua who thought she was the most "darling little thing" they had ever seen.  They adore this breed and have had several through their lives and promise to spoil her rotten.

Fritzie, 7 month old male Bichon Frise, he suffers from inflammatory bowel disorder and needs to be on a special diet, we want a no stress household for him.  He is very sweet and mostly housebroke.  He is high energy, loves to play and chase toys.  He found a lovely new home with two other Bichon Girlies, one who also loves to play all day.

**********************************

Bijou,  This 1-year old female, apricot P**dle came our way via a PetsMart referral.   She is housebroke, obedience trained, had some agility training, and is just precious!  Wouldn't you know we get the one in a million perfect rescue, and she isn't a Bichon. LOL.  She found a wonderful new home at a local assisted living center and is spreading joy to many seniors.

September:

Maggie, 7 year old female Bichon Frise, who was being left alone all day.  She was adopted by an older couple who can spoil her rotten, and who have family just up the street to help spoil her even more rotten.

THANK YOU PETSMART FOR HELPING US PLACE THE FOLLOWING RESCUES!

Fluffy,  6-year old orange female Pomeranian.  Very shy.   She was adopted by a very nice lady who just could not leave PetsMart without her.  They already have a rescue Greyhound, so are familiar with the needs of a rescue dog like Fluffy.

Boulder, AKA "Happy"  a male Bichon who did not pass the "personality test" at the shelter.   He was adopted by the same lady who adopted Fluffy, because her daughter and grandson took Fluffy away from her.  LOL.   So, she came back for a fluffy dog to take on walks with her.

Angel and Betsy,  10-year old  female Bichons were adopted, together (yea), by an older lady who wanted to replace the Bichon she had to put down.  She fell in love with the girls, and was heart-sick at the thought of them being split up.  She said, "they are old, I am old.  We will get along just great!"   Boy do we love people like this!

Big Red,  is a 7 Month old female Min-Pin, who was very spunky.  She found a home with kids and a lady who thought she was "really cool".  She will keep them on their toes, but will get spoiled too.

August:

Fluff,  A couple adopted him from a local shelter, and unfortunately, he is having epeliptic seizures.  As they have small children, they felt it best to find another home for him.  And Bo, who is two and just not getting the "house breaking" thing, were adopted by two wonderful people who wanted each as company for the other and themselves, and did not care about the "minor" problems they had.

I just love good ending.

Skeeter,  is a 7 year old  "Big Guy!"   turned in to rescue when the lovely woman who had him, was no longer able to care for him.  He was adopted out to a family devoted to getting him excercise and working on a new Slim-Jim personality.  The two kids fell in love with his smile and his need of belly rubs, and promise to walk him daily.  He also gets to cheer up the new "brother" dog, who went in to mourning when his other doggy friend passed on earlier this month.

Bee-Gee,  is a 7-8-year old male who had a small child fall on him, and he bit the child and was put in isolation with the County.  The owners did not want him back, and they gave him to us in rescue.  He has been adopted by a nice older couple with no children and he won't be at risk with children.

Poo Bear,  is an 8-year old male who's owner move and could not take him with her.  He found a very nice lady with another Bichon.  I think it was another small miracle in life for everyone.

Mandy,  was a 1 year old female who came to rescue last month, but  came back to us.  She is very cuddly and sweet, but will bark and cry if left alone for extended periods of time.  She was adopted  by a retired lady who takes her everywhere with her, including the bank and her bridge games.

Sammy (now  Sam)   Was adopted by Lil'Bits mom as a friend for Lil' Bit.  However, Sam is such a cuddler, he is more mom's companion.

July:

SOLO,  came in to rescue about a year ago, and was placed with a nice family with kids.  Unfortunately, he was still having pee accidents in the house, and they decided to return him.  We found a darling couple to adopt him.  They had a Bichon before that had a "few accidents" so they are not worried about taking him home.  Yippeee Skippeee

June:

Boomerang and Frisbee  ages 9 and 10 were dropped off at a vet clinic to be euthanized because the owner could not care for them any longer.   Fortunately, the vet called us rather than put them down.   They were adopted by a family with two little girls, each fell in love with one, and they will now be pampered for the remainder of their lives!

Jillian  is just over 5 years old and a retired breeding dog.  She was adopted by a man with another Bichon who needed a companion.  Hopefully, Kelsey doesn't mind being bossed around cuz Jill is an alpha dog, but very sweet otherwise.

Kito, a 3 year old male, came to rescue when his family had multiple changes in their life, and he began marking territory.  He was adopted by a wonderful woman, who states he hasn't had one accident since she adopted him! Yippeeeee!

MAY:

Max & Toby both 3 years old, came to rescue when their hu-mom passed away.   Max is a lover, follows everywhere and likes to cuddle.  Toby is a little more independent, but is also very loving.  Both found new forever homes with older couples who will give them tons of love and attention.  Max even got a new Pomeranian brother in the deal!

Snowball's  Hu-mom died a year ago, and Hu-dad went to hospital and was not expected to live.  SO...he needed a new home FAST!  He was placed immediately to a nice lady who had just lost her Bichon and needed to fill the empty void in her heart.

Sugar:  Was a sweet little girl doggie, who came to rescue when baby #2 came along, and took all her attention away.  She went to a wonderful older lady who's kids are already grown, so no sharing necessary.

THANK YOU PETSMART!  With coordinated efforts between ourselves, ABRN Rescue Members and PetsMart several other rescues were placed this month: Spit, Cheech, Chong, Jeannie

APRIL:

Saucy with the saucy attitude was a 5 year old who was adopted by a wonderful lady as a companion for her as her other dog has passed away.  I know Saucy will brighten her life and give her lots of cuddles to help her recover from her loss.

Cheers who is adorably cute and cuddly went to live with a lady with older kids who get shuttled all over the place, so she wanted a doggie to ride along with her.  She came in to rescue when her previous owner had to care for a dad in the home, and dad didn't like her.   What is not to like about this little one, she is cute and cuddly and never barks...

Oliver was 3 years old and still having a few accidents, so he came to rescue.  He came from a home with lots of kids and cats so we chose to place him with a nice couple with no kids and no other pets in hopes his bad habit would go away with less attention to share.  They absolutely adore him.

Pedro (Bichon) is about 6 years old, and was turned in to rescue as he was having accidents in the house.  He is very sweet,  and he loves to go for walks and adores being cuddled.  He was adopted by a wonderful family who fell in love with him. They have 2 boys with allergies who have been waiting months for a dog, and the boys adored him, and he them.  They promise to take him for walks every day after school, and will teach him how to play ball.

"Sophie" Was placed with people who were on our wait list for over 2 months. She is a 9 months old, female, great with kids and other dogs, and almost housebroke... Her family gave her up as they have 3 small children, and feel she needs more attention then she was currently getting.  She went to live with a little girl with severe allergies who will give her tons of attention!

"Prince Charming" was here long-term at the ranch.  He is was the alpha male of a group of breeding dogs from Cortez.  In the time we had him he went from being "Grumpy" to "Prince Charming" as he became one of the sweetest dogs we had here.  We even had him almost housebroke.   He was adopted by a family in NE who needed another dog to keep them company with their older Pomeranian.

Bruno is a 5 years old, very sweet, Bichon. He loves kids, and was adopted by a family with young children who used their own savings to adopt him. They promise to take him on tons of walks, and share toys (although they bought several), and will even pickup poop!   They were his birthday present, as he had just turned 5 when they adopted him!

PomPup is a six month old Pom who came our way, and found a great home with an older Pom brother and two loving hu-parents to spoil him rotten.

Calle's mom moved out of state and could not take all 4 dogs she owned, so Calle came to Rescue.  But, she ended up being adopted by a friend of her  hu-mom, so we did nothing but babysit for a few days...wish all rescue was this easy!

PupPup, shown here with Pedro, was the cutest rescue we had at our last PetsMart sit in.  He was a 4 month old Shih-Tzu/Bichon pup, and everyone wanted him...including me!  He ended up with a teacher who works a flexible schedule, who will give him tons of attention and love...what's not to love?

Jose is smiling because just got adopted and now has a new Bichon Brother to play with.  He came to rescue with Pedro as the two of them were having accidents in the house.  We are hopeful that by separating the two, this marking war will cease.

MARCH:

This little Spit of a dog is only about 3 pounds and less than a year old. She is a Chihuahua/Pomeranian mix, a very busy little one if you try to catch her but once caught, she expected to be held all day.    She was adopted by a lady who wanted a dog to cuddle all day, so it was a great match-up.

Kaylene is a little bitty Pomeranian.  Only 3.5 pounds at 10 months old.  She went to live with two Pom brothers, one who is bigger to look after her.  I am sure she will be spoiled rotten within a day.  She is too cute to do otherwise.

Napoleon: was 10 when his hu-dad passed away, leaving him homeless.  He went to live with an older couple who had just lost their large dog, and has been getting human treats and lots of walks ever since.  I think they are both adjusting wonderfully.

"Gypsie" was a 10 month old who found a fabulous home to be wild and crazy with.  She looks here very cute and cuddly, but she is a handful.

"Bailey"    is a once in a blue moon, Perfect Rescue.  He is 18 months old, and very sweet.  He is also HOUSEBROKE...His hu-dad is in a wheel chair, and is too much for his hu-mom to care for them both.  So, with tears in her eyes, she brought him to us with a loving note to the new owners.  He went to live with Pipi, his new Bichon sister who needed a friend to play with.

Issy: Gets to go live with a Chinese Chin and a new mom and dad.  Mom is an artist and home all day so will have lots of time to give to loving Issy, who is very shy.  And her and her new Chin sister hit it off right away.

Fluffy (now named Parker)  came to rescue when his hu-mom passed away.  He has been adopted by a wonderful woman who has a handicapped older daughter who will love to have Parker to pet all day long.  He took to them right away, so I know it was his choice to go move in there.

Butchie was a lost and found puppy.  He was matted and dirty, and had no form of ID on him.  No-one responded to our ad, so he went to live with a new family, including a new Bichon Brother..  PLEASE, IF YOU LOVE YOUR PET, MICROCHIP!

FEBRUARY:

Lucky, got his name due to the many problems he had when coming in to rescue.  He had a broken leg, and an eye injury, which needed attention.  We got him all fixed up and several months later, he is now placed in a wonderful new home with an 88 year old gentleman and his family, who think he is just perfect to keep dad up and about, walking his new found friend.

Cujo is a Traveling man...he was in a kill shelter in Florida.   Small Paws Rescue found out and sent in an attorney to make sure he didn't see the big "E".  Then when he showed aggressive behavior with the vet, he was sent here to Colorado, to determine whether or not he could become a well mannered pet.  Cujo indeed turned out to be a dream, and after spending 2 months at "The Ranch" he was adopted by a wonderful widow, who needed him for company.  He even let us groom him before he left! Another miracle rescue thanks to the joint efforts of SmallPawsRescue.org, and the Bichon Frise Rescue Ranch.

We had the privilege of assisting Pomeranian Rescue again, with the placement of 8 Poms they got from La Junta.  6 Girls 2 boys came in to rescue and we were able to place 5 of the girls right away.  And one little girl, came to rescue with a old leg break, and she was adopted by a couple who just lost their Pomeranian, who also had a broken leg when they adopted him 12 years ago.

Sassy, was an older mix (looked kind of like a Bichon) we found at the local shelter.  She was too sweet to leave there, so we brought her home.   We were able to find a darling older lady to adopt her, and have heard they are very happy together.

Bogie, was only a year old, but was being beat up on by his other doggie brother, so came in to rescue.  A lady who had owned Pekenese all her life had just lost hers after 15 years, and was thrilled to take him home with her.

Jillian was about 5 years old and retired from mom-hood, so she needed a new forever home to become a pet in.  She was adopted by a fabulous younger family with kids.   So now she can still be a "mom" of sorts.

JANUARY:

THANK YOU PETSMART FOR HELPING US PLACE THE FOLLOWING RESCUES!

Jezek, aka Fritzy, aka King Louie:  came in and out of rescue several times, unfortunately.  He was fostered by a wonderful couple (Bob and Delores) who worked on housebreaking him, and who got him settled in as a real pet.  Then he went on to rule the roost at his new home, where he has gained the title "King" since he is now king of his new castle.

Winnie is a Maltese.  She was found wandering loose off Inspiration not far from "the Ranch".  She was adopted by a wonderful older couple who had lost their dog and needed a new companion.  She will get lots of attention and love at her new home.

Jasmin__Jasper.jpg (19332 bytes)

Oreo was a Pomeranian who was adopted by a darling lady and her husband.  The new mom proceeded to buy him lots of toys and a soft bed, and treats and ...I am sure she is going to get along great with her new baby.

Cookie: also a Pomerian, was adopted by a nice family that had a black Pomeranian, and wanted "cookie" to keep him company.  I think it is a great match.

Shih Tzu.JPG (7790 bytes)

Maurice: Is a 2 year old Shih Tzu, who was tied up outdoors by his owners.  He had an accident and lost his eye.  His new mom thought he was just a cutie and is looking forward to all the cuddles she can share with him.

Tanya new groom.jpg (16912 bytes)

Lizzy  was one of our mama dogs, and boy was it hard to let her go to her new home.  But she is moving in with a new P**dle brother, and a couple who know just how to spoil little dogs, so she will be just fine...better than we will be...  : - (  We will miss her very much.)

Duffy  was one of the most matted dogs we have ever encountered.  He was only about 1 1/2 years old, and looked like he had lived outdoors all of his life.  Once he was shaved down, he looked like a combo: westie/p**dle, and he was a little touchy, whining each time he was pet.  He was adopted by a wonderful woman and her husband who said "don't come home without him".  They found a groomer who will work with him so he won't bite, and promise to shower him with tons of lovin' dovin.
