Rescue who have found new FOREVER Homes!

 Poems dedicated to Rescue

December 2000:

Started out as a fabulous month as Breed All About it with the cable TV show Animal Planet, came on the 2nd. of December and filmed our resort.  We also placed 2 rescues in the first 3 days of December:  Yippeeeeee

Buttons now known as Betsie Bea

Is happily living with her new family which includes her new Bichon sister:Babie Amie Annie.  They are now walking side by side and enjoying each other very much.  Buttons family will monitor her eye problems,  and are enjoying having her as a new addition to the family.

This is Glory...

on the right with her new hu-mom, hu-dad and sister Maggie.  Glory is a 10 year old Bichon who's previous owner could not keep up with her chronic ear infections.  When we got her we took her to our Wonderful Dr. Tom and got her started on treatment for the ears, an eye infection and allergies.  Within days she was 1000% better.  Glory's new family said they will keep up with her health issues and give her lots of love.  She has already moved into her new "bed" and her sister is trying to play with her.  : O  ) *Glory's vet visit  will be featured on Animal Planet's Breed All About Show, coming up sometime in March or April 2001.

From the Left:  Dickens with Mom Jessica, Maly with Dad Geoff, Dudley with sister Katie and a puppy with sister Jenna.
He doesn't look too thrilled, but the new family sure is! They have Dickens.  He needs dog social skills, and Dudley needs people skills, so they felt it was a wonderful match that they can learn from each other. they were here for 3 hours with him, and altho the youngest would have rather had the puppy, they all agree  love Dudley forever and ever. I am soooo happy for him!

Albert is here with his new Mom Linda and Daddy Dutch has Albert's new brother.  I know they will all be the best of friends.  They drove 5 hours from the Mountains to come get him.

We called him "Bear" - his name was "Sparkey"

This little guy was found wandering in a neighborhood in Parker.  He is a 7 year old Yorkie-Poo. He is sweet and housebroke and neutered.  He had a slight eye infection which we treated.  We posted Found Dog signs and put an ad in the paper, and his family finally found us via the Sunday Paper.  They are sure happy to have him back!

November 2000:

Moses found someone to love him!  Moses was left with rescue when the family who adopted him from Florida 2 years ago from a shelter moved to CO they could not find housing that would allow him to stay  : (        Moses suffered some from anxiety syndrome or lonesome-ness or something, and he would whine and wave and beg to be picked.  The above nice lady (Susan) mom had a Bichon pass on and she was so heart sick, she wanted to replace him.  Moses looks just like her old Bichon, Buttons!  Susan saw Moses on the website and came all the way from Holyoak to visit him for her.  They will be perfect companions for one another.  We are soooo happy!  <<<<Bichon Blitz>>>>>

This is Dizzy*
with his new mom and dad.  He is sporting a fancy Bronco Karate Belt*   He was our little guy with very bad allergies and our wonderful Dr. Tom got them under control so they could take him home to live happily ever after, and get 3 walks a day, and get attention from lots of other older folks who will probably feed him treats, and goodies and love him to pieces!   *Dizzy's adoption will be featured on Animal Planet's Breed All About Show, coming up sometime in March or April 2001.

*Karate belts are made by our wonderful Rescue volunteer mom:  Auntie Becky in Nebraska, (mom to Oso, Zeus and Dax) and marketed thru our  Bichon Shopper webpage as a fund raiser.  It works like a diaper  and looks like a cumber bun, and is great for those naughty boys that keep lifting legs on furniture and such.  Thank You Becky!!!!  You have saved many a puppy's life and home with this wonderful belt.  And we use them at the resort too.

October 2000:

This is Casper, with his new family.  While taking the Silkies to the Dumb Friends League for spay/neuters we found Casper in one of the cages and called HELP~ go get him! to Laura who was on their wait list and ours.  She and her husband rushed over just in time (there were people lined up behind her for him too) and is now madly in love with this little guy.  He is housebroke and a perfect companion to all her kids.

Isn't he just precious!

Meet Tucker:

Tucker is a 4 year old rather large (20 pound) Bichon.  He was a perfect little boy until his hu-mom got married and moved in to a new house with a man who has a Labrador.   After the move Tucker decided it is his job to mark everything in sight all the time.  They have tried everything, including the Karate Belt* by Auntie Becky, and he still won't quit his bad habit.  SO, mom decided he may be happier in a house with someone who can give him all the attention he is obviously craving.    The change obviously worked, because Here is what his new mom says about him:  "Tucker is doing very well with me. He's a very sweet boy and does beautifully with Buffy. He has almost no accidents. To my amazement he is getting used to the cats and is less startled when they jump up on
the bed. Both bichons sleep with me. He is a real Mama's boy".
Gracie and Piper adopted!

Gracie:

Is an 8 year old spay/HOUSEBROKE female who originally came from a breeder when she was retired from having puppies.  She was placed a short time later with another family who had children, and Gracie does not seem to like the younger daughter, so needs a home without children.  She is very sweet otherwise, and loves to be loved.  She has been adopted by an older lady who just lost her beloved Bichon to cancer.  They promise to love each other for ever and ever!

Piper:   Piper is 2 yr. old male, about 12 pounds.  He is Snowflakes brother and  loves to hike, and is obedience clicker trained, kennel trained, and housebroke.  Piper was adopted by a wonderful family in Colorado Springs who have a big dog, and a stay-at-home mom.  So he will get lots of love and attention.

Snowflake is a 3 1/2 year old female       who had soooo much energy, her family could not keep up with her.  Now in her new family she will have trouble keeping up with them as they have lots of energy.  Meet Adam (on the rail) Alexandra, Miles (the Golden Retreiver) and a neighbor who will all keep her very busy!

This is PASCAL:   named after a famous mathematician, he is an 8 month old Bichon Frise.  He was adopted from a local pet store, but after having spent 5 months in a pet store, the people who adopted him could not get him housebroke, so put him in rescue.    He was adopted by a nice family in Colorado Springs with 2 young, well behaved boys, who think he is "tops".    Mom found a volunteer friend who promises to help her get Pascal Potty Trained.  Yippeeeee!!!!

September 2000:

This big guy is Kiley.  He is about 18 pounds at 6 months and more than a handful for the little old lady who adopted him as a puppy.  He is quite frisky,  and loves to play with the dogs.  Jis new home is with people with black labs, so he can play during the day, and be a lap dog at nite.  What a life!  When the new family came to see him, he climbed in dad's lap, rolled over for a tummy rub and said, OK, this works, take me home!  I don't think he even waved good bye to us.

August 2000:

Meet Ozzie & Harriet:  http://www.smallpawsrescue.org/pup3/ozhar.html

Sadly, we report that Ozzie and Harriet, went to a new home in CA, but it did not work out.  BUT happy to report a wonderful family in CA stepped in and took them in to foster care until we can find another family to take them permanently.    So, if you are looking to adopt a wonderful "couple" of Bichons, EM PUP3@aol.com and let her know you are interested.  We miss them and their cute little smiles, and know the new foster home will just adore them.

Meet Lilac:    She is a 1 1/2 year old tiny (10 pound) Bichon Frise (the one on the left) who needed a new home as her previous owner was moving in to an apartment, and had to work long hours due to a D-I-V-O-R-C-E.  She had a 4 year old daughter to care for, so had no time for little Lilac, so she  lovingly asked our assistance in finding her little one a new home.  One where she could get lots of attention.  She has been placed with another Rescue Bichon, who is 11 years old (can't tell to look at him) and a stay at home working couple who will give her lots and lots of love... Pity the poor older Bichon brother who will have to try and keep up with her!

July 2000:

This is Jaque (now Jake) who is now living with a family in Colorado Springs .  He is very sweet, and was put up for adoption after 4 years with his family, who had recently moved and just did not have time for him anymore.  He now gets lots and lots of attention!

This is Avalanche ... now Bailey, and his sister Chelsie with his new hu-family.  They own a carpet store ... thus the name LOL.  They lost Chelsie's bichon brother when he had his teeth cleaned and now they have adopted Berber to keep Chelsie and them company to fill the sad place in their heart for the loss of their beloved Bichon.

This is Rambo, who was turned in for re-adoption from his family as they had a death and were not able to keep up with his busy antics.  Fortunately, a week away from him and they knew they wanted him back, and came and got him.  Hopefully they will all live happy ever after.

This is Max now called Dax.  He was turned in to the Adams County Shelter as his hu-mom of 8 years had gone in to daycare and had a disabled child who did not get on well with him.  She specifically requested Max be turned over to Bichon Rescue.  Max, as you can see, smiles all the time, and is a very happy guy.  He was adopted by Becky, our wonderful rescue mom who already has a rescue Bichon as well as a Shih Tzu.  Becky is the angel who created the famous "karate belt" for all our pee-problem Bichons.   Dax is now happily living in Nebraska and after going thru obedience school (see you are NEVER too old to learn to behave) he is becoming a perfect gentleman.  Becky has hopes of turning Dax in to a volunteer therapy dog, to work with older ones in nursing homes.  Goooooo Becky and Dax!!!!

May 2000:

Taffy:  Is a P**dle and the brother of Jojo.  Both were placed in rescue at different times, when their hu-dad passed away.  Taffy has been adopted by a wonderful older couple as company for the wife who has M.S. and wanted a lap companion.  I am sure he is being spoiled rotten

Lolli:  Named for the song "LolliPop Lollipop. ooolala lollipop"  was a lost and found puppy.  She was lost near a large shopping center here in town and altho we hung signs and advertised, she was never claimed by anyone.  She has been placed with Ruth who had waited a very long time for a Bichon companion pet, and she is fitting in just wonderfully with Ruth and her cats.

April 2000:

Pheobe: was an owner turn in because she was jumping their 3 & 1/2 foot fence, and they were fearful she would get hurt.  She was adopted by Jebbiesmom, and is  Jebbie's new big sister.  She has taught him all the finer things in life, How to climb on tables, how to get in the trash, how to NOT PEE in the house, and how to sleep on the head of the bed, not the foot.  Pheobe also has 3 hu-children and two hu-parents who will devote themselves to keeping her safe and happy.

Jojo  is Taffy's Bichon sister..   She has been adopted by a sweet lady named Gail who was looking for a companion for her other Bichon baby, Lolli.  Gail takes Lolli and Jojo to a local nursing home twice a week for visits and they get lots and lots of attention, which is good because Jojo craves attention!

!

Brandy:   is not a Bichon, but a great Bichon babysitter!  She came to us via our x-neighbor from the "city".  With baby #3, Brandy was 5th in line for attention, and was not handling it well.  She would poop and pee when baby cried.  She is a very sweet 7 year old.  We had planned on keeping her forever ourselves, but when some people came by over the weekend to look at the Bichons, they fell in LOVE with her, and visa versa.  See, they had just lost their 7 year old Aussie to cancer : (         So after much soul searching, and tons of tears from us ... she has a new home.  AND they are still going to get a Bichon, cuz Brandy needs the company!  Yipeeeeeeeee!!!!!

March 2000:

This is Rascal.  He was a 7 month old Shih Tzu, who's owner turned him in to us to find him a new home.  He was having a little problem in the potty training dept. and at his old home the big dogs next door kept peeing on him.  We were able to find him a wonderful new home in New York, by posting him on the Shih Tzu  Internet Message Board.  He is now living with a large family and being treated with great care and love

.

This is Toby (on the left) with his new hu-dad and hu-mom.   He is an older Bichon Frise who is very sweet.  Toby also was an owner turn in as he had an accident or two in the house.  Toby has found a new home with the above couple who have an older Yorkie and all are living happily ever after.  And, we have heard that he has not had an accident since he arrived!  YEA TOBY!!!  4/00   Latest Update:  Humom fell and as she is disabled she was unable to get up.  Toby stayed by her side planting her with baby kisses to give her reassurance till hu-dad showed up!  What a PERFECT match!  Get the Kleenex, Auntie Pam is gonna cry!

Bichons Only!, RETURN HOME  Bichons Only!,
