NEW POSTING:  FEBRUARY 10, 2010   THE FOLLOWING IS AN EXACT SET OF EMAILS THAT TRANSPIRED ON THE BELOW LINK...TOO BAD SOME PEOPLE ARE SO POLITICAL IN SUPPORT OF THEMSELVES AS INDIVIDUALS THAT THEY DON'T REALLY SUPPORT THE DOGS.   PK

2/10/2010   Thanks for you oh-so-nasty email.   It is always pleasant to deal with nasty people.

Back around 2000-2004 the BFCA sold to us t-shirts and cook books for us to use for auctions, picnics etc. as fund-raisers for our rescue efforts here in Colorado.   Back then, there were not "party lines" drawn as to who could and could not do something to try and better the position of rescue dogs.  We all sort of thought it a good idea to work together for the benefit of dogs nationwide.  I would assume there is probably an invoice somewhere in the 2002 records for our purchase, and if it is signed by whomever we dealt with back then you can confirm that we worked together on this matter.  Perhaps you had best research your info. before jumping all over us.   I'm not sure how many cookbooks we originally purchased, maybe 10 or so...The cookbooks never sold, and I can't even remember how we dispersed them, perhaps as gifts at our picnics over the years.  This was the case with the t-shirts we purchased that did not sell over years of trying.

Back in the "old days" we in turn donated statues, door mats, treat jars, etc. for the annual on-line silent auctions that the BFCA put on each year.   And in those "old- days" we even were appreciated and thanked for our donations and for our effort of placing needy dogs into new homes.  AND, in the "old-old days" we were also approached and agreed to take in dogs (mostly puppy-mill rescues) that needed asst. with socializing and a place to stay while in rescue, until we got burned so bad by other rescue people, that we started saying "NO".

The auction link you refer to has been on the web site since 2002, (I'm thinking that would be, hmmm almost 8 years ago?)  and is not functional in any respect now, except for someone doing research on our sites to see what we were up to back then.   We forgot it was even out there and don't see how it offended you or the "board members" to the extent that you had to get so nasty in your email.  A simple request to remove the link, or a nice request as to where we got the items would have worked as we do try to avoid  stepping on toes around here.

Now-days it seems that the rescue world has become more and more political and per your tone, we assume you are feeling possessive of your "things".   We are certainly happy to delete that we had items from the club that we raffled off, however see no reason to do so, as at the time - 2002, it was done in conjunction and with full knowledge of who-ever sold the stuff to us.  DUHHH, how else do you think we acquired the items???

As for the cook Bichon,   we simply did a google search for Bichon Graphics, found it and used it.   This is the same as we did with other graphics, mostly which came from Mimi's Bichonland.   Actually, I think this graphic is originally Mimi's, or perhaps Tamclan so you best better be sure before you accuse us of copyright infringement.    Years and years ago, back in 1997, when we first designed the web site, those graphics were there for the taking and use for anyone who wanted them.   And as of yesterday, Mimi still has a link out there with graphics she/they are willing to share.     I have seen nothing indicating this particular graphic is copyrighted by "permission only".   Feel free to send proof of this, and we will delete.

BTW:  you must be related or affiliated with the wonderful group of Small Paws Rescue, they seem to get in a snit about everything we do also.   I'm so glad we have more dogs on our hands then time so don't have to mess with the big issues you have like the above.    Have a pleasant day...we will.

Hello, my name is Kathy Andrew.  I am on the Board for the Bichon Frise Club of Northern California and hope you can clarify how it came about that our cookbook, The Barking Bakery  Fluffy's Yummy Recipes was listed on your website for your Rescue auction back in 2002 - please see the above link.  This link popped up while a fellow Board member was doing a search online.

We need to request that you immediately remove this from the internet since the  Board did not authorize your use of this cookbook for the "Ranch".

The Board would like to know how you came to be in possesion of the first 25 books,  as your ad states, the first 25 books sold will benefit the "Ranch" and that additional sales will benefit BFCNC.  We would also like to know how it came about, without our permission, that additional sales after the first 25 books were sold would benefit BFCNC.

We note that on your current website www.bichonfrisegetawy.com/rates.htm on pages two and three, you have taken and used, without permission, a picture of a Bichon with a Chef's hat which has  copyright information that is plainly visible on the inside cover of our cookbook.  Kindly remove the above mentioned graphics as well as any other graphics that you may have  taken from our cookbook.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
