Well, We did it!  Another successful picnic!  It was posted live on our website by Jeff Leisengang of webify.net.

Festivities were scheduled to begin at noon, but our visitor began arriving at 11:00 as they were too excited to wait.  Our last guest departed at about 7:30 p.m.

Dr. Annette, of Annies Animal Clinic micro chipped 22 pets, and the photographer took 30 portrait sittings!  Awards were given for various activities, including the most agile pet, (Tink) for the obstacle course, the most mature pet (who was Yanni Bichon - at the ripe age of 15), with several runners up in the 12 year range.  The most traveled pets,  were the Texas Triplets, Daphne, Demi and Dante, from Corpus Christie.  Also distance travelers were  Xeus the Shih Tzu and Oso Bichon  from Marquette, NE.

The Fashion Show was wonderful, with many participating in various costumes.  The most original had to be Duffy & Clancy who along with their owner Pat, were dressed as Cows, complete with bells.  And then there was Bunny Bichon dressed as a cowboy, and Jojo and Lolli in their hand sewn sun dresses.

The weather was advertised to be sunny and warm, but some storm clouds came passing over, giving us all a scare.  Fortunately, Tinkerbelle, T-Bone and Lacey the Colorado Trio, donned rain gear and showed that old rainman we were determined to party with or without his interference!  So, the clouds dispersed and the sun came up.

We can not express our thanks loud enough to all our business supporters who helped sponsor the picnic, with the donation of pop and food for sale.  Special thanks to Safeway Inc. of Elizabeth, Colorado, PetsMart of Littleton, Colorado, Michael Paul, of Reimax Masters, and Pam Dickerson of Denver, Colorado for their generous donations.

We had set a fund raiser goal for our year 2000 picnic. With everyone's support we were able to meet our financial goal setting aside funds for Colorado rescues and we were able to send money to Small Paws Rescue, Inc. in Okalahoma as well.

We look forward to continued success next year, and hope you will join us.

And here is Pat Huber, our groomer, who did our grooming demonstrationsAnd this is our wonderful vet, Dr. Annette, of Annie's Animal Hospital who did the microchip clinic.  She microchipped 22 pups, who now will never, ever get lost and not find their way home! First thing, Check In!

We had 101 Bichons Registered!  The Back Tent was Paws Kettle Corn, and we had HotDogs & Hamburgers cooking on the grill, courtesy of Safeway, and Pop, courtesy of PetsMart.  We raised lots of money on empty tummies!

A view from the front of the house.  You can almost see our Bichons & Friends Sign on the top of our entry.
